Received answers:

"What was the best thing about studying at GU?"

I absolutely loved studying at Georgetown and I can easily say it was the best 4 years of  my life thus far. While it is hard to pick one specific thing, I would say it was all the friends I made and experiences I had. I truly feel that I not only did I grow intellectually and personally, but I had fun in the process. I wouldn't be the person I am today if not for Georgetown. I truly believe Georgetown gives you the best of both worlds---top level education and a sense of community that is hard to find in many univeristies.
"What do you think makes GU better than other colleges?"
  • work-life balance (has the best of both worlds)--Ivy league caliber education yet united community behind sports teams. People work hard and play hard.
  • the people are truly amazing and I have made friends for life. You learn just as mcuh from your peers as you do from you professors
  • The Jesuit ideals of the university set it apart and its emphasis on "cura personalis" or cure of the entire person. In other words, Georgetown wants you to grow intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, physically, etc. It also has a strong focus on men and women for others and having an impact on the greater community.
  • Georgetown is very focused on its undergrads
"Hows life at GU?"

"Why did you pick to go to GU?"
I chose Georgetown for a number of reasons and conducted very thorough college research and visits beforehand. First of all, I wanted to go the School of Foreign Service (SFS) and Georgetown has the premier and only program. Second, the university encompassed all the values I was looking for and knew it would help me grow as a person as well. Third, it was located in DC (tons of great opportunities) and was a perfect size (not too big not too small). Another reason I chose Georgetown was the sense of community I felt upon walking on campus. Students are cooperative and there isn´t the cut throat competition that you see in other places. People work together and focusing on competing with themselves. Lastly, I was incredibly impressed by the students, alumni, and professors I met and wanted to be a part of this community.
